I (x_loto) found no evidence of this when I attempted a text dump, but I'm no expert so that doesn't rule it out entirely. However, Blueberry Buttface's [http://www.gamefaqs.com/nes/563408-dragon-warrior/faqs/54647 English text dump] doesn't seem to mention it, either.
