(1)I remember reading in a book that the volitional form can be used as a soft command. It was for a children's book where the child had to connect the dots, and it was something like "Let's connect the dots". Is this true? I am leaving it as it is, because it sounds better for a command, then let's~, since a sign can't pass through the hole anyways. | (1)I remember reading in a book that the volitional form can be used as a soft command. − | + | Basically yes, "let's" is a soft command. I'm guessing this form being used here is also partly due to the fact, that in the fantasy world of Zelda, the signs are not completely unanimate either. It sounds like the sign is talking to you and giving you a suggestion what to do. |
