== The Story of the Three Goddesses ==
 
* Note: The story of the Three Goddesses is even more archaic than the Deku Tree, so it uses even more archaic language... you have been warned. :)

未だ - まだ, 成（な）さず uses old negation ず instead of ない. Note that ず is both 連用形 and 終止形, so this sentence could both mean "In this world, without reason, life, form, ..." and "This world is without reason, life, form." Note that it matters... (As a matter of fact, didn't the Deku Tree also use ぬ to end a sentence? If so, the first connotation is the right one.)

* 𦣪 is an informal variant of 鹽 (old form) or 塩 (current form). It means salt. Something went wrong here however, in the game it actually says 降臨 (to descend).
* In old Japanese, there was the so-called atrributive (連体形) form used to attribute verb actions to nouns, eg. 降臨する神 [the god which descends]. Distinctive from this, there existed another verb form, the so-called finshing 終止形 form, only used to end sentences, eg. 神が降臨す (the god descends). This explains why す　is used here. Today, these two forms got merged.

* なる　was (from に有り) originally only a copula (same meaning as です), later and in modern Japanese it came to mean "to become". Since this is classical Japanese, なり means です. And again, なり is  終止形　used here to end the sentence. なる would be the 連体形 used for attributing. By the way, this explains adjectives such as 聖なる,単なる,... and the な of na-adjectives is just the short form of なる ;)

* 注ぎて is nowadays contracted to 注いで.

* Here we see the the na-adjective 豊か used with なる.
* 守りし is the old past of verbs. Added to the 連用形. き is 終止形, し 連体形, there is no 連用形 and しか is 已然形.
* せり　is verb す(to do) in 未然形 form　せ, and the helper verb of completion り　(It comes from 有り etymologically added to 連用形, which then underwent a sound change し+あり＝＞せり. This explains why it *seems to be added to the 未然形 unexpectedly.) is added in 終止形, which is り. Means the same as した/しました. Don't worry, you don't need this in daily life.

* It seems たもう the sound changed form (あうー＞おう) of 賜う/給う （たまう）, mostly conveying a polite meaning only.

* 去りし is the past again.
