When used on titles and persons it can carrie a subliminal meaning of worhsip and devotion. Zelda is using it for her father because he is also the King of Hyrule, obviously. {{gloss|お父さん|おとうさん father}} with the polite but more neutral さん suffix would be the more regular term to address your father.
