- 守り続けて Means "continuing to protect" or "keeo on protecting" You can use 続ける in any verb, just take off the ます stem of the verb and add 続ける. 食べ続ける "Keep on eating", 読み続ける "Continuing to read".
- 樹 is pronounced, and mean, the same as 木. It is possible 樹 is being used to elevate the Deku Tree, similar to the word great tacked on in the English version. He's not any old 木 but a 樹.

- コキリ族という者たち means the people who are called the kokiri. という can be used between nouns like so "レッドロブスターというレストランに行きました。" "I went to the restaurant called Red Lobster".

I'm going to search more in a bit, but can someone explain these point (2) please:
- (2)Okay, so I found that the volitional form of the verb plus とする means to try to do something. However, I still don't know what 読み込む means in this sentence. Jim BReen's dictionary says "To express, to read (extra meaning) into something", but I don't know how that fits in this sentence.
- (4) I think I was right in saying that の前で means in front of in this case.
