Welcome to Learning Languages Through Video Games, or LLTVG for short, where we host heavily annotated and translated script dumps and transcripts of video games! We don't have very much right now, but you're always free to add new games or expand upon what we have...
Our current focus tends to be on classics from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, but this is likely to change as more games are added.
Activity is a little low right now, but don't let that discourage you. Hey, we can't get bigger without your help, right? :)

Recommendations
If you're not afraid of kanji, and you're willing to learn the relevant vocabulary, one of the easiest games for an aspiring Japanese student to understand is the Super Famicom version of SimCity. For the most part, its Japanese is very straightforward due to the absence of slang and colloquialisms.
If you're looking for something to work on, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is one of our biggest projects. We recommend working on this rather than starting your own project unless your project is reasonably small, but we won't stop you from working on any game you want.
